Claudia's Charming Dollhouse

This is the living room of my friend Claudia's cottage.  Claudia is
the author of one of my favorite blogs,  Mockingbird Hill Cottage.
Claudia and I share our great love for dogs, reading, the piano and
dollhouses.

Here is her sweet dollhouse next to her piano with the vintage
keyboard school print above.  Notice that Claudia has repeated
her signature turquoise color in various touches throughout the
room, especially on the shutters and front door of her Victorian
dollhouse.

Lovely!

Let's go inside through the front door.

The inside is just as charming as it's exterior.  This room has the
cozy and welcoming cottage charm we all love.

Claudia loves McCoy pottery and has an impressive full size
collection.  She has even managed to find miniature sizes of
her beloved McCoy patterns.

I love the pretty platter too as well as the miniature books.
Notice a copy of Jane Eyre on the shelf.

This little fireplace with the attached bookshelves was a miniature
that was once readily available, but now seems very hard to find.
Claudia painted it all white and added the eclectic elements to
really make it uniquely hers.

I love this very vintage wallpaper in the kitchen and that distressed
shelf over the Aga.

Here you can see the finished kitchen.  Perfectly cozy.

This is a kitchen I could live in :-)

Claudia made this chair.  It was a kit and she covered it in the
most charming fat quarter fabric.

It's just the perfect spot to sit and knit or crochet ~ if you are
a fairy.

This is just an introduction to Claudia's miniature curating and
design talents.  I am going to take you on a tour of her
mid century miniatures in the near future.  She is truly a
very talented miniaturist and can shift periods and styles
with ease.

If you have never read Claudia's blog (and I would be
surprised if you have not) be prepared to be enchanted by
her full size cottage, wonderful garden and beautiful
photography.

Love,
Susan and Bentley

In The Kitchen With Kim Saulter

One of the reasons I started this blog devoted to minis was because I wanted to
share resources and talented miniaturists with other mini lovers.

Today, I am so pleased to share with you the work of a very talented, and
dear friend, Kim Saulter.  She has the soul of a true artist and everything
she touches becomes magical.  Just take a good look at this kitchen.  It's
hard to believe that it's all in miniature, but it is!  I could just move right in,
couldn't you?

Charming to the max!

It's just like the kitchen that Romantic Homes Magazine featured on it's cover
several years ago.  Love those windows over the sink and that cute little skirt too!

And this sweet kitchen!

And this table where the pies are being prepared.  I am just in awe of her
talents.  Now let's look at more of her baking and cooking goodies....

Pancakes with syrup and waffles.

A three layer cake for a birthday party.

And Kim creates dreamy seasonal creations too.  This makes me long for Fall!

Let's not forget about Christmas!  The cute gingerbread house and decorated cookies and
even a mug of hot chocolate topped with marshmallows.  Delightful!

Boxing up the Christmas cookies!

Then Valentine's Day rolls around, and Kim has that holiday covered too.

Be still my heart!

Let's get ready for Easter.  Ducks, bunnies, colored eggs and flowers.
So cute!

Patriotic holiday treats.

And who doesn't like pie!

Aside from being an extremely talented artist, Kim has a big, warm and
loving heart.  She always looks on the bright side of life and is a joy to
know.

Kim is a new grandmother of an adorable baby boy.  She has been
taking a short break, but will be back to creating more of her magic
very soon.  Kim has an etsy shop and will be filling it up with all
sorts of goodies again.  Keep your eyes open though, because
her creations sell out fast!

Thank you Kim for letting me share your wonderful creations
and photos.  Your work is so beautiful!

I have a big list of other miniaturists that I will be featuring, so
stay tuned for great inspiration, tips and resources.  Thanks for
stopping by.

Love,
Susan and Bentley

Dollhouse Miniature Quilts

Several years ago I made this little mini quilt for a doll bed that was
play scale.  I decided that it would look cute hung on one of the walls
of my miniature nursery.  I wanted to make another one, and my good
friend Judy over at 20 North Ora sent me a package full of wonderful
fabric bits and pieces that will make a really cute mini quilt.

I was so thrilled when I opened the package to find all of these adorable
bits of fabric.  Such cute patterns and colors that will be perfect for the
miniature nursery.

I can't wait to show you what I create!

Love,
Susan and Bentley
